Living in the Los Angeles area, A.L. Baroza is an animation storyboard artist and comics artist.
The ’90s saw his comics work in titles published by Caliber Press (Sherlock Holmes: Adventure of the Opera Ghost, Worlds of H.P. Lovecraft, Nightlinger, Tatters), and Slave Labor Graphics/SLG (Hero Sandwich, One-Fisted Tales). He is particularly proud of his work on Slave Labor’s acclaimed series Tales From The Heart, the true-life adventures of a Peace Corps volunteer in the Central African Republic, written by Cindy Goff and Rafael Nieves, of which he will forever be known as “that guy who isn’t Seitu Hayden”.
In the ’00s, his comics work has appeared in various venues, including TOKYOPOP’s Rising Stars of Manga 3, the independent anthology Hot Mexican Love Comics, and both volumes of Secret Identities: The Asian American Comics Anthology.
He has also storyboarded, and worked as a storyboard director, assistant director, and director on various animated television shows, including Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, Rocket Power, Family Guy, American Dad, Squirrel Boy, Napoleon Dynamite, Axe Cop, and Futurama, and was nominated for an Annie Award in 2008 for storyboards on The Replacements. He is currently storyboarding Elena of Avalor for Disney Television.
